About St. Christopher's Children

St. Christopher’s Children is a registered 501©(3) nonprofit organization established in 2007 located in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. St. Christopher’s Children is dedicated to providing needed clothing and critical orthodontic care for children living in Georgetown County, SC. We provide for the immediate personal needs of abandoned, abused, and disadvantaged children. Since inception we have helped over 4700 local children with clothing, orthodontic, and personal hygiene products. The basic need for clothing and orthodontic care cannot be met my existing social services or government agencies. We believe that all children should have access to basic clothing, personal hygiene products, and orthodontic treatment for severe cases of malocclusion.

St. Christopher’s Children, Inc. is an 80% volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Partnering with Georgetown County Schools and other agencies to help children in need with clothing and orthodontic care. Assisting  over 4700 children since  inception,  goals for 2024 are to assist 500 children in Georgetown County. The children are the HEART of our mission.

Did you know that studies have shown that clothing deprivation has a significant effect on social participation? Inadequate clothing can be a part of a sad equation that leads children to skip school and have behavioral and academic problems.

With the help of our school nurses, we can identify children who are in desperate need of clothing.

In Georgetown, South Carolina statistics show that school aged children living below the poverty level are 45%, compared to our state average of 23%. In 2023 St. Christopher’s Children was able to reach 500 children in our community, providing needed clothing and critical orthodontia care. With the help of our community partners, donors, STCC Resale store, and various grants we can continue helping the disadvantaged children of Georgetown County.
